Conclusion
The
thesis
has
researched
the
C-E
translation
of
TC
in
Zhangjiajie
from
the
perspective of Grice’s CP. Nowadays,
tourism
in China
is developing rapidly, but the
problems in present translated texts
have not been solved
effectively
.
As TC provides
a
wide
range
of
information
about
the
geographic
facts
,
architectures
,
pla
ces
of
interest
,
culture
and
customs,
it
is
an
important
way
through
which
China
communicates
with
the
rest
of
the
world,
and
its
quality
can
help
build
up
China’s
international image.
Grice’s
CP
is
chosen
to
be
the
theoretical
framework
of
the
thesis,
for
it
is
a
very
important
notion
in
pragmatics
though
it
has
not
received
sufficient
attention
in
tourism
translation
research
.
CP
not
only
applies
to
spoken
exchanges
but
also
to
written
texts
,
not only original
writings but also translated
texts
,
especially practical
translated
texts. Through
the
above analysis,
this
thesis
finds
that
TC
in Chinese and
English
differ
greatly
in
style
and
content
.
Chinese
TC
tend
to
employ
rhythmical
style,
pompous
type,
parallel
structure,
exhaustive
expression,
overuse
of
four-character
phrases
and
adjectives,
while
English
TC
are
always
organized
in
concise
and
informal
ways.
Concerning
textual
features
,
Chinese
and
English
texts
differ
in
focus
of
information
,
p>
different
syntactic
features
,
and
pattern
of
textual
organization.
Chinese
texts
focus
more
on
description
of
the
scenic
spots
while
English pay more
attention to provide practical information.
As
the
ultimate
purpose
of
C-E
translation
of
TC
is
to
appeal
to
the
potential
foreign
tourists
to
travel
in
Zhangjiajie
and
to
promote
the
communication
between
guides
and
foreigners,
the
target
text
of
TC
should
give
sufficient
consideration
of
foreign
tourists.
However,
CP
was
not
applied
to
tourists’
translati
on
appropriately
and
many
translation problems
still exit
in
translated
texts of
TC. The thesis
analyzes
the
existing
problems
in
C-E
translation
of
TC
and
proposes
some
effective
and
adaptive translation strategies
according to CP and its maxims.
The
study aims at obtaining considerable
theoretical and practical
value so as to
broaden the
horizon of translators
in
the related researches and to provide a
