Since 1946, computers have changed our
lives and our ideas. The computer is useful to us.
First, it can

information. Second, a computer can work very

Third, modern computers can be built into other
kinds of machines, like
radios, cars
and planes. They can do a lot of work for us.
Everyone, either at home or at work, uses some
kinds of computers. The lives of all of
us have been changed by this invention.
It is common
knowledge that computers have changed our life.
Before computers were widely used, I
had to go to the library far away from
my home to find information if I needed some. It
was a waste of time.
Then nowadays,
it’s convenien
t to surf the Internet to
find something I need by using the computer.
Computers can also help us process
difficult problems quickly. These changes are so
great that they
make our life more
comfortable and colourful.
Computers have changed our life. My
life was not convenient before computers were
widely used. Now
life is more
interesting and convenient. I can find information
which I need on the internet easily. I can
send e-mails to my friends. And I also
play computer games in my spare time. I think
these changes are
wonderful. But on the
other hand, we mustn’t spend too much time on
computers because it is harmful to
us.

After I Failed to Pass An English Exam
It was the darkest time in my life when
I was told I had failed in an English exam. I felt
terribly sad, but at
the same time, I
decided to study as hard as possible. I told
myself that I couldn’t give up. I tried my best
to do everything more carefully.
Finally, I made a high jump. I have learned where
there is a will. There is
a way. I will
never give up hope.
I felt
very surprised and sad when I was told that I had
failed to pass an exam last Friday. It gave me a
serious attack. But after that I didn’t
give up. I studied much harder than before. I
asked teachers for help
as soon as I
had an
y problem. Then I was successful
in the next exam. As an old saying goes, “No pain,
no gain.” I have learned that I won’t
be successful unless I do my best.

I took part in an
English contest last term. But to my
disappointment, I failed to get the prize which I

been looking forward to for a long
time. After the failure, I told myself that I
shouldn’t be lack of confidence.

began to study harder and became more interested
in English than before. As the sayi

success.”Later, I won the first prize in another
English contest with my effort. I have learnt
that the best way to face the failure
is to work harder.

An interesting lesson

secret.
