conversation
私人谈话
Last week I went to the theatre. I had a very good seat.
The play was very interesting. I did not enjoy it. A young
man and a young
woman were sitting behind me. They were talking loudly. I
got very angry. I
could not hear the actors. I turned round. I looked at the
man and the woman
angrily. They did not pay any attention. In the end, I could
not bear it. I
turned round again. 'I can't hear a word!' I said angrily.
'It's none of your business,' the
young man said rudely. 'This is a private conversation!'
上星期我去看戏。我的座位很好。发挥是很有趣的。我不喜
欢它。一青年男子与一年轻女子坐在我的身后。他们在大声
地说话。我很生气。我听不见演员。 我转过身。我看着那个
男人和女人生气。他们没有注意。最后，我忍不住了。我又

2 Breakfast or lunch?
早餐还是午餐？
It was Sunday. I never get up early on Sundays. I
sometimes stay in bed until lunchtime. Last Sunday I got
up very late. I looked
out of the window. It was dark outside. 'What a day!' I
thought. 'It's raining
again.' Just then, the telephone rang. It was my aunt Lucy.
'I've just arrived
by train,' she said. 'I'm coming to see you.'
'But I'm still having breakfast,' I
said.
'What are you doing?' she asked.
'I'm having breakfast,' I repeated.
'Dear me,' she said. 'Do you always
get up so late? It's one o'clock!'
它是 星期日。在星期天我是从来不早起。有时我要一直躺到
吃午饭的时候。上周日我起床很晚。我看着窗外。 它是黑暗

3 Please send me a card
请给我寄一张明信片
Postcards always spoil my holidays. Last summer, I went
to Italy. I visited museums and sat in public gardens. A
friendly waiter taught
me a few words of Italian. Then he lent me a book. I read a
few lines, but I
did not understand a word. Everyday I thought about
postcards. My holidays passed
quickly, but I did not send cards to my friends. On the last
day I made a big
decision. I got up early and bought thirty-seven cards. I
spent the whole day
in my room, but I did not write a single card!
明信片总是破坏我的假期。去年夏天，我去了意大利。我参
