Lying by the Tree to wait for
》
Once upon a time there was a farmer who worked hard in the fields
every day,while he was ploughing the fields,he heard a
bumping sound. He saw a dead rabbit .He thought to himself ,
it is so easy to get a rabbit like that, why should I work so hard all
day long
day,dreaming for more rabbits to he finally realized his
foolish,he starved to death.
The story told us no pain ,no gain , no one can reap where one has
not sown.
从前有一个农民每天在地里辛苦劳作。一天他正在耕地时听到撞
击声；
他看到一只兔子 躺在树旁。
他捡起一看是一只肥大的兔子，
他
自言自语地说：
“
既然 这么容易捡到兔子，为什么我要整天辛苦劳作
呢
?”
他扔掉锄头，
每天躺在树 边，
梦想有兔子来。
当他最终意识到他
的愚蠢返回地里时，
他发现他的稻谷全 死了。
这个故事告诉我们，
我
们不能等着机会和运气带来的不可预料的收获，
也就是说，
我们希望
不劳而获。
2. The Thirsty Pigeon
口渴的鸽子
A PIGEON, oppressed by excessive thirst, saw a goblet of water
painted on a signboard. Not supposing it to be only a picture,
she flew towards it with a loud whir and unwittingly dashed
against the signboard, jarring herself terribly. Having broken
her wings by the blow, she fell to the ground, and was caught by
one of the bystanders.
Zeal should not outrun discretion.
有只鸽子口渴得很难受，
看见画板上画着一个水瓶，
以为是真的。
他
立刻呼呼地猛飞过
去，不料一头碰撞在画板上，折断了翅膀，摔在
地上，被人轻易地捉住了。
这是说，有些人想急于得到所需的东西，一时冲动，草率从事，就会
身遭不幸。
